TOOT #1: (As in, "Tooting my own horn.")
Back when I was a young 'un, summer fun meant time spent on Lieutenant's Island, Cape Cod. After more than thirty years those precious memories are some of my most vivid, so when Katie O'Sullivan, editor of Cape Women Online, invited me to submit an article, I jumped at the chance. Who doesn't love going back to a well-loved place and time, even if only in one's memory? The result is my article "In Dreams," published in the new summer issue of Cape Women Online. If you feel so inclined, you may link HERE to read my article. I hope you'll enjoy this glimpse into my past, and perhaps peruse the publication which offers many treasures, even for those of us who do not reside near the Cape.
And moving right along. . .

TOOT #2: (As in, "Oops! Pardon me!")
Okay, buttercup. Do your Miss Manners' sensibilities cringe at the thought of this sort of toot? You know the kind. A toot that would make any middle school boy proud. A toot that says, "I'm headed for the throne room and proud of it!" Well, we've all been there, haven't we? And the folks who bring us Uncle John's Bathroom Reader know that good reading material is a must for those fine tooting occasions. But here's the really good news: You don't have to actually write about tooting to be published in this book. That's right. No writooting required. Want more information? Here's the poop:
"Uncle John’s Flush Fiction wants your short story! We’re looking for entertaining short fiction, suitable for bathroom (or any room) reading, maximum 1,000 words. Send us your best Western, mystery, horror, sci-fi, literary story, parody—all we ask is that it’s entertaining.
• All themes, styles, and hybrids considered.
• Humor is appreciated, but not mandatory.
• Does not have to be bathroom-related, but if you have a tasteful and imaginative take on a bathroom topic, we’d like to see that too."
To read complete submission guidelines, please click HERE. Good luck! Hey, did I mention this is a paying market? $50.00 if they choose your work for publication. Now that's something to toot about!
See you back here for Book Blurb Friday, where 150 words or less must sell your book. If you've never participated in BBF, click HERE for details. It's fun! I hope you'll play along.
Toot, toot!
Lisa
