About Me

My Photo
Lisa Ricard Claro
Welcome! I’m a wife, mother, pet lover, family taxi and freelance writer. I also excel as a laundress, which I suspect is the real reason my family keeps me around. I write about life as I see it—only the naked truth!—and I’m an optimist. If I manage to impart information or coax a laugh from you then my time is well spent. When not tending to my blog or lavishing attention on my family, I’m working on my YA novel, editing my women’s fiction novel, plotting a short story, writing an essay, or researching new markets. Oh, there’s that whole laundry thing, too. Emails welcome! writinginthebuff@hotmail.com.

Wish I'd Said That!

Close the door. Write with no one looking over your shoulder. Don't try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It's the one and only thing you have to offer.
-----Barbara Kingsolver

A writer never has a vacation. For a writer life consists of either writing or thinking about writing
-----Eugene Ionesco

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Write your story as it needs to be written. Write it honestly, and tell it as best you can. I'm not sure that there are any other rules. Not ones that matter.
-----Neil Gaiman
