Grandma's Goulash graciously hosts Succinctly Yours, the wonderful meme for those of us addicted to microfiction. The trick is to write a story in 140 characters or less using the photo below as inspiration. To add to the challenge is the word of the week, "extend." My stories are below.
Elected Clowns
(127 characters)
“Is the circus in town?” A hotel guest asked Ed at the front desk. “Sort of,” Ed smirked. “It’s the annual Congressmen’s Gala.”

Selected Clowns

Black-nosed Bart extended a dinner invite to Ho-Ho, but she gave him the silent treatment. Last thing she needed was to date another clown.

Thanks for visiting! See you on Wednesday for the naked truth about . . . Birthdays.
Have a great week--

Both are brilliant! I kind of got the vibe that "black nosed Bart" was a bit of a lecherous ol' clown! Good for Ho-Ho!
We have clowns ruling us too!
Oh yes indeed they are clowns!
Can't decide which I liked best. Both excellent.
Both of these are awesome!
Two funnies again, Lisa...both made me laugh. I thought black-nosed Bart looked a bit sly with his sideways glance. Ho-Ho's name cracked me up; she's wise to avoid dating another clown, especially one who looks like he's up to no good.
Hi Lisa ~~ My pick will be the second one. The pot sure is calling the kettle black, huh (an old saying from cooking over open flames, remember that?)?
The first, LOL! I thought I recognized my Congressman lurking back there.
..
Lisa ... they are, aren't they? (#1)
and I don't blame her! (#2)
Thanks for the smiles, I needed them.
Hope your week is awesome,
Kathy
Nailed it as always. Loved both of them.
With all the crazy politics going on right now I thought your first one was perfect. I cannot believe some of the things these supposedly intelligent candidates.
oops, the word say did not post.
Thank you for your comments! I'm glad everyone enjoyed this week's microfiction. :)
Enjoyed them both, but the first was my favorite. It left me laughing - better than the news coverage of our politicians.
Giggling unmercifully at both of them. Nailed it again.
