Microfiction: That Really Frosts Me

Welcome to today's microfiction! Hope you had a great weekend.

Grandma's Goulash graciously hosts Succinctly Yours, the wonderful meme for those of us addicted to microfiction. The trick is to write a story in 140 characters or less using the photo below as inspiration. To add to the challenge is the word of the week, "nimble."  My stories are below.

Frosted #1: See Him Choke
(137 characters)

Stu Frost, earnest but not nimble of brain, blew his chance with Ms. Dayberry when he tipped his hat and said, “Good Berries, Ms. Day!”

*          *          *          *

Frosted #2: Up in Smoke
(139 characters)

"I'm gonna give those anti-smokers a swift kick in the snowballs!"Clearly, Frosty held a grudge since the banishment of his corn cob pipe.

Thanks for visiting! See you on Wednesday for the naked truth about . . . Christmas Secrets.

Have a great week!
Lisa

Your wit tickled my funny bone this morning. How do you come up with this stuff?

Only you, Lisa, could create something as sharp as that second piece. (I'm not laughing too hard at the first, as I've made gaffes like that.)

Ooops getting someone's name wrong can cost one! ;)

Maybe Frosty could be Mr. Potato Head's fill-in while he's taking a Christmas vacation. Remember? Mr. P surrendered his pipe to Surgeon General C. Everett Koop back in '86, becoming "Spokespud" for the annual Great American Smokeout. Hm. Maybe they could make Frosty an honary winter poster child!

"Berry" Christmas!

Another great rhyming of titles and hilarious stories. I almost used "nimble" in the way that you did but couldn't come up with something clever. Corn cob pipes--come to think of it, I don't see them on snowmen any more! Thanks for the laughs, Lsa!

Oh, I love the idea of Frosty as an angry, snowball-kicking smoker! Am I horrible? Pure winter magic, Lisa!

Love the first one and the second one, I am sure Ms.Day (oops! Ms.Dayberry) did not talk to him again.

Hi Lisa! Those are both funny, but that last one cracked me up. I hadn't noticed that his pipe was gone, lol. Snowballs, ha!

Have a great week ... I'm working on my BBF already.

Hugs,
Kathy M.
