Write a book jacket blurb (150 words or less) so enticing that potential readers would feel compelled to buy the book.
Below is this week's "book cover," generously offered for our creative blurbs by my daughter Christina. My blurb follows.
The Lady and the Falcon
(149 words)
The year is 1589, and Lady Gwendolyn Lyles knows her husband, Lord Falknor, to be a narcissistic fop. Trapped in a loveless marriage, she wants her life to count for something worthwhile.
That something presents itself in the form of the Falcon, a man rumored to be Queen Elizabeth’s favorite spy. His face is always hidden, his exploits renowned. When the Falcon’s path crosses with Lady Gwen’s in the Queen’s stone garden, their fates become entwined. Lady Gwen is drawn into a web of political intrigue, and a love she cannot deny.
As England is drawn into war with France, Lady Gwen becomes further embroiled. When her husband disappears she realizes too late that he is not the pluckless ne’er-do-well she judged him to be, and his only hope of rescue lies with Gwen’s ingenuity and the dark reputation of the Falcon.
Thanks for a great photo, Christina! I thought I might have trouble since it was taken in my own back yard, but it turns out I was able to imagine something quite different from what I know the photo to be. Fun! Now when I head down those stone steps into my back yard I'll think of Lady Gwen.

Oh, I'm glad I'm careful not to read anything here before I write my blurb. If I had known it was your back yard, Lisa, I might not have given the steps a Minnie Cooper mystery.

Oh, Lisa, I love your book. It reminds me of an early Julie Garwood (except that the lady probably wouldn't actually cheat). Does she ever get to see him without the mask, I wonder?
I loved Christina's photo too, this week was easy for me. I am so glad that you read that post and found next week's picture. It took my breath away when I developed it. That spot is right down the road from us, but neither of us had been there before.

The photos are great and I've tried to save them so I can post on my blog as I've actually have something, however, I can't seem to get the pictures, wah wah. Any suggestions? Not sure how fun it would be to write the blurb without the photo to go with it, but... maybe I will and drop the photo in some other time and of course they can always come to your blog to see the photo.
Okay, sometimes I wonder about the brain... got the pic... DUR as a friend would say.
Oh and I guess it goes without saying (only I shouldn't have literally not said) your blurb is great, as always! Not only are you a Microfiction Queen, you're definitely The Bomb of BBFs.
Lynn - You crack me up! Not sure how you're getting the photo. Try putting the cursor on the picture and right click your mouse. Choose the "save image location" option. Then go back to your blog and when you insert the photo, choose the URL option and put the image location link in that field (CTRL-V). That will put up the pic without you having to save it to your PC. :)
I really intended doing something with this photo as it had such potential, but ran out of time. Well impressed with the promise of this particular tale Lisa.
Wow...what a testimony to your creativity that you transported us to Lady Gwen's world from your own backyard! Romance, mystery, intrigue...this one has it all! P.S. to Lynn: This is not a "DUR!" Many of us have had problems getting the photos to appear in spite of Lisa's many kind attempts to help. I blame Blogger. ;)

Lisa, your imagination was not reined in by where the picture was taken. Now the secret is out! Interesting use of history. Each character has a place in the plot, connecting in unexpected ways.
