Did anyone else have a crazy week? My time belonged to everyone else this week and I found it a struggle to sit at my laptop for any length of time to accomplish my writing. Fortunately, I was able to complete today's book blurb, though for a while there it looked iffy. Another interruption and I might have hyperventilated. But, no fear! The blurb is done, and this week's photo below is provided by writer and world traveler Kay Davies.

Bonbons Malaxés (Kneaded Sweets)
Annette, Yvette, and MiMi Fornier are sisters renowned for their beauty and baking skills. Their boulangerie, Bonbons Malaxés (Kneaded Sweets), is across from the local Commissariat de Police, and popular with the officers. So are Annette, Yvette and MiMi, who provoke ooh-la-la’s for more than just their raspberry tarts.
When the Commissariat is overtaken by terrorists, Bonbons Malaxés becomes the headquarters for the hostage negotiators. While the sisters keep the pâtisserie and café flowing, they fret over the fate of the policemen being held hostage. Surely there’s something they can do! Mais oui?
Armed with their famous cream puffs, éclairs, and Christian Louboutin stilettos, the girls decide to stage hostage negotiations their own way. But first they must circumvent the officials residing in their bakery and sneak into the Commissariat; then they’ll use all the sweets at their disposal to frost the bad guys. Ooh-la-la! (146 words)

I'm not good with fiction, but I love traveling through the blogosphere reading the blurbs by your participants. I am intrigued by your son's photo. It draws me in.

I too was busy this week just getting back from out of town for the holidays gave me little time to devote to Book Blurb but I gave it my best shot! I just love your story and yes, kick ass does have the punch that is lost in the French translation! LOL!

Hi Lisa, wow, you sure can pack so much into 150 words, and you know about french things too. Just a remarkable woman, you are! I love your blurb and imagine this book to be a really fun one to read. Of course the ladies will save the day and at least one will fall for a cop, I'm guessing.

Fantastic blurb Lisa, and what a wonderfully entertaining read this would be! I only wish I were really reading the back of a book I had just bought!
BTW a more colloquial way of saying 'they kick ass' would be elles bottent les fesses (literally they put the boot in the buttocks!)

Love this one, Lisa! You make it look so easy, but I know it takes effort to come up with these. I was laughing at your blurb - I could imagine all kinds of hilarious dialogue and scenes! Do you ever get the urge to take a blurb and run with it? Turn it into a short story or novel? You always seem to have such a great start!
